Job summary

Gordon Food Service's Atlanta Tech Hub is offering a 12-week paid internship for a Data Science Engineer intern. You will build and test data pipelines, develop predictive models, and ship analytics tools under guidance from industry mentors.

Work across departments to translate business needs into technical solutions, participate in networking and mentorship programs, and gain hands-on experience delivering real-world impact in a large North American distributor.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Math/Statistics, Data Science, Computer Engineering.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Responsibilities

• Immerse in stakeholders' needs to map data architecture and translate problems into specs.
• Research algorithms and collaborate with teams to design robust data-driven solutions.
• Build, test, and iterate on data pipelines and predictive models.

In the Data Science Engineer department by:

• Business Discovery & Needs Orientation: Immerse in stakeholders' operational domains to understand underlying business requirements, map data architecture, and translate functional problems into technical specifications.
• Solution Research & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Conduct thorough literature and technical reviews, evaluate candidate algorithms or analytical methodologies, and partner with cross-functional teams to brainstorm, refine, and design robust data‑driven solutions.
