Sony Pictures Entertainment is hiring a Data Engineer II to design scalable ELT pipelines powering analytics, reporting, and AI/ML apps. The role collaborates with product managers, analysts, and data scientists to deliver datasets for reporting and advanced analytics across TV, streaming, and marketing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related fields; advanced degrees are a plus.
• 5+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related technical role in a production environment.
• Experience working with data supporting television, film, streaming, advertising-supported video (AVOD), FAST channels, content distribution, audience analytics, or media strategy.
• Familiarity with industry data providers such as IMDb, Gracenote, Luminate, Nielsen, or similar sources is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Analytics Engineering: translate complex business requests into robust data models and semantic layers using dbt and SQL.
• Data Engineering: support ingestion of new sources into SPE’s Snowflake data platform, co-working with IT and cloud ops.
• Cross-Functional Product Delivery: partner with product managers, data scientists, and BI teams to deliver ready-to-use datasets.
• One Team Mindset: contribute to a high-performance team culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
