Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment's PlayStation Infrastructure Operations team seeks a Data Engineer to build the data foundation for understanding cost, utilization, and economics of our global infrastructure. You will own end-to-end implementation, from identifying questions to turning data into actionable insights, collaborating with engineering, product, finance, and operations across the organization.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years building production data pipelines, strong SQL and Python,

Qualifications

• 3+ years building production data pipelines and analytical systems.
• Proficient in SQL and Python or similar.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, and automated ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into conclusions.
• Experience with large, complex datasets across systems.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and combine data from infrastructure, engineering, financial, and product sources.
• Develop cost and allocation models linking infrastructure usage to workloads, services, features, and products.
• Partner with engineering to identify telemetry and instrumentation needs.
• Analyze cost, utilization, capacity, and unit economics to inform business decisions.
• Create trusted metrics, datasets, dashboards, and analytical tools for multiple teams.
• Establish data quality, testing, observability, and reproducibility practices.
• Explore new data sources and technologies to improve infrastructure understanding.
