Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment's PlayStation Infrastructure Operations team is seeking a Data Engineer to build the data foundation for understanding costs, utilization, and economics of PlayStation’s global infrastructure. You will own end-to-end implementation, connecting data sources into a trusted view of usage and costs.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, product, finance, and operations to create scalable pipelines, cost models, dashboards, and analytics tools, while improving data

Qualifications

• 3+ years building production data pipelines and analytical systems.
• Advanced SQL and Python proficiency.
• Experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, dbt).
• Ability to translate complex problems into measurable data requirements.
• Experience with large, multi-system datasets.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable data pipelines ingesting infrastructure, engineering, finance, and product data.
• Develop cost and allocation models linking consumption to workloads and products.
• Partner with engineering to identify telemetry and instrumentation needs.
• Analyze costs, utilization, capacity, and unit economics to inform decisions.
• Create dashboards and analytical tools for engineering, product, Finance, and leadership.
• Establish data quality, testing, observability, and documentation practices.
• Explore new data sources and technologies to improve understanding.
