Job summary

Mars is seeking a Veterinary District Sales Manager for the Altamont Region of California. The role is field-based, requiring residency within the territory and travel to clinics across Stockton, Tracy, Livermore, San Ramon and nearby areas.

The successful candidate will drive Vet BU strategy, develop territory business plans, build clinic relationships and deliver compelling data-driven presentations. Excellent communication, a driver's license, and 20–30% travel are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years sales experience, preferably B2B.
• Veterinary clinic experience preferred.
• Excellent communication & presentation skills (oral and written).
• Possession of a driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Overnight travel required, occasional weekends; ~20–30% travel.

Responsibilities

• Translate knowledge of products, categories, customer, and clinic data into business opportunities.
• Develop and execute a territory business plan by understanding clinic operational needs.
• Establish and grow relationships with clinic decision-makers within assigned geography.
• Develop and deliver data-driven presentations addressing Veterinary staff needs.
• Collaborate with Account teams, Digital Sales, Inside Accounts and Scientific Affairs across the BU.
• Build partnerships to meet shared objectives and maximize territory performance.
• Execute the Veterinary Business Unit sales strategy in a cross-functional team environment.
• Conduct quarterly business reviews with Line Manager and adjust strategies as needed.
• Manage expense and sales budgets; complete CRM and expense reports and presentations.
