Job summary

athenahealth is seeking a Revenue Cycle Performance Associate to join the Remittance team. You will monitor KPI performance, lead improvement initiatives, and partner with product and cross-functional teams to help practices get reimbursed faster and reduce billing surprises.

The role requires 2+ years in healthcare revenue-cycle operations, strong data-tool proficiency, and the ability to tell data-driven stories to influence decision-making across distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred and 2+ years in healthcare revenue-cycle operations with a track record of improvements.
• Experience writing prompts using AI-powered software tools and language models.
• Advanced proficiency in Tableau, Sigma, Excel, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of SQL preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and tools (Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, SharePoint).
• Strong project-management skills; ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate risks early.
• Ability to influence diverse, geographically distributed teams through data-driven storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product team to build automation projects and data pipelines.
• Create and analyze data sets to identify optimization opportunities for automation.
• Investigate dashboards to spot trends in AR cycle metrics and trigger action.
• Develop data-driven action plans and measure impact iteratively.
• Lead end-to-end continuous-improvement projects aligned with company goals.
• Present insights to senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
