VillageMD is seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist to research and resolve payment discrepancies and ensure accurate patient accounts. You will work primarily in Athenahealth, performing detailed payment research, worklist resolution, refunds, and reconciliation, while collaborating with internal teams and payers.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate multiple systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, medical billing, payment posting, payment reconciliation, refunds, banking, accounting, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Research and resolve payment discrepancies and account variances to ensure accurate balances.
• Review Athenahealth worklists and determine resolution based on payment activity.
• Investigate unapplied, misapplied, and unidentified payments and take corrective action.
• Process refunds in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Reconcile payment activity and verify deposits using banking and payer portals.
