In this hybrid role, you will lead data-driven initiatives, build and analyze datasets, and present insights to senior leadership. You will collaborate across cross-functional teams to reduce billing surprises and streamline AR processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience in healthcare revenue-cycle operations with a track record of improving KPIs.
• Experience writing prompts using AI-powered tools and language models.
• Advanced proficiency in Tableau, Sigma, Excel, and PowerPoint; SQL knowledge helpful.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and tools (Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, SharePoint).
• Strong project-management skills; able to juggle priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate risks.
• Ability to influence cross-functional, geographically distributed teams with data-driven storytelling.

Revenue Cycle Performance Associate

We are looking for a US Service Operations Analyst to join the Remittance team here at athenahealth. In this role, the Revenue Cycle Performance Associate will use athena’s connected data fabric to monitor KPI performance, lead improvement initiatives, and partner closely with our product team and other cross-functional stakeholders to help practices get reimbursed faster and reduce billing surprises for patient

The Team: The AR Follow-Up Product team is accountable for timely and efficient AR resolution through product design & support, KPI monitoring, and proactively identifying automation opportunities to reduce manual work.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product team to build agentic, API, and any other automation projects.
• Build and analyze data sets in order to identify automation optimization opportunities.
• Proactively investigate Tableau and Sigma dashboards to spot emerging trends in cycle rates, inflow, days in A/R, and A/R in billed status, triggering timely action and stakeholder engagement.
• Analyze trends, identify root causes, and craft data-driven action plans that lift KPI performance; track impact through iterative measurement.
• Lead continuous-improvement projects end-to-end—scoping, execution, and retrospective—while aligning with athenahealth-wide and departmental goals.
• Present insights and progress to senior leadership and cross-functional partners through crisp, data-driven storytelling.

Typical Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience in healthcare revenue-cycle operations with a record of driving measurable improvements.
• Experience writing prompts using AI-powered software tools and language models.
• Advanced proficiency in Tableau, Sigma, Excel, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of SQL preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and tools (Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, SharePoint).
• Strong project-management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate risks early.
• Ability to influence diverse, geographically distributed teams through data-driven storytelling and constructive challenges.

Expected Compensation

$50,000 - $86,000

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevantknowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles,and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
