Job summary

NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is seeking an Emergency Preparedness Data Analytics Coordinator to oversee strategic planning and data-driven decision-making during public health disasters and emergencies. You will collaborate with Division of Family & Child Health leadership, bureau leadership, and SMEs to support preparedness activities and develop data-informed emergency plans.

This role involves risk assessments, identifying hazards, refining strategies, coordinating with OEPR

Qualifications

  • Experience collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong organizational and technology skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite.
  • Professional, analytical, creative, flexible, and able to meet tight deadlines and manage projects from start to finish.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret data to understand the scope, impact, and implications of emergencies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of emergency response activities and recommend improvements.
  • Create and update emergency response plans based on risk assessments and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and update plans, protocols, and procedures, including trainings for division support of public health response functions.
  • Enhance processes and systems to bolster staffing depth and create sustainable staffing models.
  • Identify and resolve gaps and implement improvements from evaluations of emergency responses.
  • Assess impacts on programs and services when additional functions are taken on during emergencies.
  • Coordinate with OEPR, ICS coordinators, and COOP to align IC S and COOP functions.
  • Participate in emergency response group meetings, planning, training, exercises, and evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain Schools & Family emergency response group structures and leadership rosters.
