Job summary

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC Health Department) invites applications for a Training Program Coordinator within the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response. The role supports implementation and continuous improvement of emergency preparedness and response training programs across the agency, collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in emergency management, public health, disaster management, emergency preparedness/administration, public administration, or related field; one year experience in a related area.
• Bachelor’s degree with two years of related experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum one year in related area.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation and continuous improvement of an emergency preparedness and response training program.
• Identify training needs, topics, gaps, and resources.
• Lead development of emergency preparedness and response training with stakeholders and SMEs.
• Ensure training tailored to audience type (general staff, leadership).
• Ensure training reflects best practices and adult learning principles.
• Lead or support delivery of training in multiple modalities (in-person, virtual, online, video).
• Explore and implement tech and software to improve learning experiences and track attendance.
• Develop, maintain, and track indicators for training completion and staff readiness.
