Job summary

The NYC Health Department, Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response, is seeking a proactive professional to support emergency preparedness and community engagement initiatives. You will assist in designing contracts across human services, faith sectors, and community leadership, while coordinating with partners to strengthen preparedness and response activities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in emergency management, public health, disaster management, emergency preparedness/administration, public administration, or related field with one year of professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant professional experience in one of the areas described.
• Satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience with at least one year in relevant area.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and program implementation of two contracts within the Human Services and Faith sectors.
• Support the design and program implementation of six contracts within the Community leadership sector.
• Support the design of emergency preparedness events, trainings, and tools to build social capital through community engagement events and leveraging existing agency community partners.
• Track and manage CPP data to inform future preparedness and response activities with contracted partners.
• Support community engagement outreach to integrate community partners into the agency emergency response plans.
