Job summary

AMD in Austin, TX seeks a Data Center Facility Design Engineer to lead end‑to‑end design, construction consultation, and operational readiness of data center environments, ensuring resilient, scalable infrastructure across power, cooling, and network systems.

You will collaborate with construction teams, vendors, and cross‑functional groups, owning problems from design reviews to root‑cause analysis, and documenting standards to support high‑density compute and AI deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial engineering.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented, collaborative with strong design judgment.
• Experience in data center design or mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and optimize data center cooling systems and power provisioning.
• Coordinate with global suppliers and manufacturers for design specifications.
• Write guidelines for rack installation, structured cabling, and equipment lifecycle management.
• Maintain facility drawings, MOPs/SOPs/EOPs and related documentation.
• Support field engineering and operations teams with root‑cause analysis and preventive actions.
