Job summary

AMD is seeking an experienced AI systems engineer in Austin to design scalable AI/HPC clusters, review compute, storage, networking, and power options, and deliver reliable infrastructure for AI workloads.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, data center, and operations teams to optimize performance across global deployments, applying deep knowledge of CPUs/GPUs, interconnects, and rack design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Experience in HPC, AI infrastructure, or data center systems engineering is preferred.
• Knowledge of GPU/CPU architectures, PCIe, InfiniBand, and Ethernet networking.
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and workload characteristics.

Responsibilities

• System Architecture & Design: Design scalable AI/HPC clusters including compute, storage, and networking.
• Network: Design network topologies to maximize overall cluster performance and understand workload needs.
• Storage: Design and optimize storage solutions for AI/HPC clusters (e.g., Lustre, Ceph).
• Collaboration: Work with hardware, software, data center, and operations teams to deliver scalable compute infrastructure.
