Job summary

Jacobs seeks an experienced Preconstruction Manager - Telecom to bridge engineering design and construction for major industrial projects. You will coordinate with internal teams and contractors to develop bid packages and ensure constructability and sequencing for on-site telecom and low voltage work.

The role requires strong leadership, design interpretation, and schedule risk management across multiple sites in the United States, with up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience in Electrical engineering or 15 years in construction management for industrial projects.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training
• General understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes and standards
• Experience interpreting low voltage electrical engineering design drawings and specifications for construction purposes
• Effective oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance in resolving in-progress design and constructability concerns, discrepancies or disputes related to technical interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Identify opportunities for schedule and cost savings based on existing design or modularization capabilities of the industry
• Identify trade partners to be involved in early contractor engagement through design phase.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of telecom and low voltage for construction sequencing and build out
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities and sync with design and schedule
• Work with internal teams to develop and review construction bid packages for contractor award
• Coordinate across stakeholders for full construction work breakdown structure development
• Assist with reviews of Vendor Data Requirement submittals during design phase for constructability and impacts
