Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager - Telecom to bridge engineering design and construction for major industrial projects. The role requires coordinating with internal teams and contractors to develop construction bid packages and ensure full scope coverage.

You will guide constructability, sequencing, and early contractor engagement, with emphasis on telecom and low voltage work on site. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience in Electrical engineering or 15 years in construction management for industrial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience.
• General understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting low voltage electrical engineering design drawings and specifications for construction purposes.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in resolving in-progress design/constructability concerns and discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities for schedule and cost savings based on existing design or modularization.
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement during design phase.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of telecom and low voltage for construction sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities and synchronize with design/construction schedule.
• Develop and review construction bid packages for contractor award.
• Coordinate across stakeholders for full construction work breakdown structure.
• Assist with reviews of Vendor Data Requirement submittals during design phase.
