Job summary

IES Communications seeks a Technician II - Data Center Services to support both physical and virtual infrastructure across facilities. The role drives data center best practices and aligns with industry standards in daily operations.

This full-time, on-site position offers on-call duties, security, and thorough documentation. You will perform MACs, hardware installations, asset management, and collaborate to ensure service availability and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Minimum 3 years of data center experience.
• At least two active industry certifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Directly support and complete all scheduled data center MACs (Moves/Adds/Changes).
• Hardware installation MACs including labeling, power and network cabling.
• Complete hardware support work orders with troubleshooting and break-fix.
• Asset management, auditing and daily log/ticket tracking.
• Provide smart-hands assistance for multiple customers at various sites.
• Maintain a safe operating environment and report violations to supervision.
• Documentation and record keeping for all activities.
• Ensure site security, badging, and data protection procedures.
• Coordinate equipment receiving, shipping and RMA processing as needed.
• On-call duties as required.
