Google's Hardware Operations team maintains the cutting-edge physical infrastructure behind its search technology. As an Operations Technician, you will install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and server software, including networks and routing components.

You may lead small projects and handle rack installation in a demanding data center environment. The role involves manual movement and potential heavy lifting, with non-standard hours and shift-based requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment.
• Willingness to lift 50 lb and perform physical tasks in a data center.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Report issues and follow procedures to diagnose and resolve equipment or infrastructure problems.
• Maintain data security and integrity per Google standards.
• Disassemble end-of-life equipment in a team setting.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on hardware and servers.
