Job summary

Google’s Hardware Operations team seeks an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software in a cutting-edge data center environment.

Responsibilities include deploying data center infrastructure, diagnosing issues, ensuring data security, and performing maintenance on servers and networking hardware. This role requires physical work including lifting and non-standard hours.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to perform component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment in data center or similar environments.
• Ability to collaborate with teams to overcome issues in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose issues as they arise.
• Maintain data security and integrity, ensuring proper data erasure and secure handling.
• Disassemble equipment at end-of-life via part replacement or maintenance in a team setting.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
