Job summary

Google Stillwater is seeking a Data Center Technician II to join the Hardware Operations team. You will install, configure, test, and maintain servers and components in Google’s data center environment, with emphasis on reliability and efficiency.

The role involves hands-on hardware work, collaboration across teams, and shift-based schedules including nights and weekends. Experience with component repairs, troubleshooting OS/hardware/networking, and physical stamina are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience completing work as directed and collaborating with teammates.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting OS, server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) of equipment and perform physical tasks over extended periods.
• Must be able to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays, and on shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Report issues and follow procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose straightforward issues with equipment or infrastructure.
• Maintain the security and integrity of data per Google security standards.
• Disassemble equipment at end-of-life in a team setting.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and servers.
