Job summary

Apex Systems is hiring a Data Center Technician I in New Albany, Ohio, onsite. You’ll support hyperscale data center ops, assist with rack-and-stack, cabling, and hardware replacements, and help with MACs, inventory, and audits. Training is provided for career growth in cloud and AI infra.

This is an entry-level role with safety and team-focused work. Ideal for candidates building a career in data centers, with basic networking understanding and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years in data center, IT support, telecom or related environments.
• Basic understanding of computers and networking.
• Ability to read and follow procedures and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, rack, stack, cable, label, and document server/storage/networking equipment.
• Perform basic hardware replacements (drives, memory, PSUs, NICs).
• Support MACs within the data center environment.
• Install and manage fiber and copper cabling infrastructure.
• Route, dress, label cables and perform basic testing.
• Provide Smart Hands support for customers and teams.
• Support inventory control, asset tracking, and receiving activities.
• Maintain ticket updates and work logs.
• Assist with physical audits and infrastructure inspections.
• Follow safety, security, and quality requirements in live environments.
• Escalate issues to senior technicians when needed.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance windows when required.
