Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Technician to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a Data Center operation. This role is part of the Critical and Technical Services function, focusing on maintenance in critical client environments.

You will support daily site inspections, respond to BMS alarms, and coordinate with third-party vendors while maintaining thorough maintenance records and adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or technical training with 1–2 years of related experience; combination of experience and education considered.
• Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Meet the physical requirements of the role.
• Present information effectively to internal teams and clients.
• Follow basic work routines and standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily site inspections of Mechanical & Engineering systems and equipment.
• Ensure environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
• React to BMS alarms and complete emergency repairs as needed.
• Work with third-party vendors following company processes and laws.
• Notify management if subcontractor performance falls short.
• Perform planned PM and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
• Check BMS for running and alarm conditions and address HVAC issues.
• Conduct building walkthroughs and take meter readings from UPS, PDU, and utilities.
• Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and maintain comprehensive maintenance records.
• Complete required training and follow defined procedures under supervision.
• Follow safety requirements and ensure regulatory and quality standards are met.
