Job summary

Arvato is a leading global 3PL provider supporting data center services across regions. The Data Center Technician will install and maintain cabling for hardware networks and decommission server equipment.

You will work on-site at client locations, ensuring safety, documentation, and professional service. The role requires coordinating with managers and technicians, flexible scheduling, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid driving license and good driving record.
• Ability to travel for business needs.
• Basic experience with hand and power tools.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and email.
• Prior experience in a data center, logistics or construction environment preferred.
• Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with networking terms and cabling best practices.
• Experience with medium to large, complex project scopes and ambiguity preferred.
• Experience with network troubleshooting tools such as VFLs, OTDR and power meters preferred.
• Understanding of routers, switches and other network gear preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrive at clients' sites on time with equipment, uniform, procedures, documentation, and PPE.
• Cable server racks by patching and dressing fibre and copper cables.
• Provide industry-leading customer service by acting professionally with clients and colleagues.
• Follow clients' procedures including health and safety, and security.
• Communicate with colleagues such as managers, planners, team leaders, and supervisors; report arrivals, delays, safety concerns, completion times.
• Complete daily checklists and provide reports on daily activities.
• Schedule flexibility to work a flexible schedule, including varying shifts, weekends, and travel as needed.
