Job summary

Arvato is seeking a Data Center Technician to support its data center services, delivering high-security transport, white-glove delivery, and technical support for hyperscale operators, SaaS, and co-location providers.

You will install and maintain cabling for hardware networks, including decommissioning of equipment and racks, ensuring uptime and reliability across client sites. This role requires field work and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid driving license with a good driving record.
• Ability to travel for business needs.
• Basic experience with hand and power tools.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and email.
• Prior experience in a data center, logistics or construction environment preferred.
• Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with common networking terms, cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies preferred.
• Prior experience with medium to large, complex project scopes and ambiguous details within work environment strongly preferred.
• Experience with common tools related to network troubleshooting, including VFLs, OTDR and power meters preferred.
• Understanding of infrastructure technologies, including routers, switches and other network gear preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrive at clients’ sites on time with all required equipment, uniform, procedures, documentation, and PPE.
• Cable server racks by patching and dressing fibre and copper cables (training provided).
• Provide industry-leading customer service by acting professionally with clients and colleagues.
• Follow clients’ procedures including health, safety, and security.
• Communicate with managers, planners, team leaders and supervisors; report arrivals, delays, safety concerns, and completion times.
• Complete daily checklists and provide reports on activities or tasks, including general administration.
