Job summary

Arvato is seeking a Data Center Installer to join our on-site team delivering, positioning, and installing server racks within client data centers. Safety, security and exceptional customer service are at the forefront of this role.

You will work with clients such as hyperscale operators and SaaS providers, performing cable installation, rack positioning, and daily reporting while maintaining professional standards and flexibility for travel and varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 60-80 pounds with proper technique.
• Ability to transport server racks (1600-1700 lbs) on wheels using a rack tug.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel for business.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Experience with structured cabling (fiber and copper) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrive at clients’ sites on time, with all required equipment, uniform, procedures and documentation, and PPE.
• Unload and unpack with power tools and position customers’ IT hardware (server racks).
• Cable server racks by patching and dressing fibre and copper cables.
• Provide industry-leading customer service levels by always acting professionally with clients and colleagues.
• Follow clients’ procedures and requirements, including health and safety, and security.
• Communicate with colleagues, including managers, planners, team leaders and supervisors, in a consistent, timely, and efficient manner. Reports include arrival times, delays, safety concerns, and completion times.
• Complete daily checklists and providing reports on daily activities or tasks, including other general administration tasks.
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time in line with your skills and competencies.
• Schedule Flexibility: Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including varying shifts, weekends, and travel as needed.
