Job summary

Arvato Direct Services Potsdam GmbH is seeking an Data Center Installer to support client data centers by installing and positioning server racks, and cabling for cloud infrastructure. Safety, security, and high-quality service are priorities as you work in hyperscale environments.

The role requires lifting heavy loads, tool use, and travel as needed; strong communication with teams and clients is essential for successful daily operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 60–80 pounds; occasional up to 110 pounds with proper technique.
• Ability to transport server racks up to 1,600–1,700 lbs using a rack tug.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to travel for business needs.
• Basic experience with hand and power tools.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and e-mail.
• Prior experience with installation of structured cabling (fiber and copper) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrive at clients’ sites on time with equipment, PPE, and documentation.
• Unload and unpack equipment; position server racks at client sites.
• Cable server racks by patching and dressing fibre and copper cables.
• Provide professional customer service and follow procedures.
• Follow client safety, security, and operational guidelines.
• Communicate status updates to management and teams; complete daily reports.
• Complete daily checklists and assist with general administration.
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on skills.
