Job summary

Netrality Data Centers is seeking a Data Center Technician to monitor and maintain our critical infrastructure across our Chicago-area facilities, supporting both tenants and colocation customers. You will respond to alerts, perform hourly walkthroughs, assist with security, and coordinate with the operations and support teams to ensure high availability and safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 2 years of prior Data Center or related technical experience.
• Technical certifications or an associate degree+ preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communicator and team player.
• Safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the Critical Facilities Monitoring System and handle alarm events.
• Provide top-tier customer support for local and international Colocation Customers 24/7/365.
• Use a web ticketing system for service requests, orders, and support.
• Process sales orders and prepare facilities for new customer environments.
• Perform hourly facility walkthroughs and readings of critical equipment.
• Assist with physical security monitoring and access control.
• Handle rack & stack tasks and routine operational duties.
• Manage package deliveries and client communications.
• Assist deployment strategies and facility expansion planning.
• Sign in/out visitors and escort authorized personnel.
• Monitor planned outages and maintenance windows.
• Maintain logs of events, inventory, and tickets.
• Maintain professional relations with contractors, tenants, colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
