Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our Data Center Operations team in Ohio. The role focuses on hardware and network diagnostics, rapid repair, and contributing to 24/7 service availability in a high‑duty data center environment.

You will work shifts including days/nights/weekends, participate in on‑call rotations, and collaborate with cross‑discipline teams to maintain SLAs and reliability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting experience, or experience related IT
• 2+ years of computer layer 1/2 networking (including troubleshooting and repair) experience
• Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
• Knowledge of network design, protocols and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix Administration
• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Network Engineering), or experience in professional or military IT-related roles

Responsibilities

• Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds each
• Working in cramped and/or elevated locations
• Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching
• Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
• Work in an industrial environment
• Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts)
• Take ownership of technical issues brought by their customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution
• Show a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving
• Solve problems at their root and step back to understand the broader context
• Maintain service level agreements through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting
• Are biased to act in the absence of direction or support
• Improve effectiveness through process innovation
