Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our AWS team and help keep the world's cloud infrastructure running smoothly.

You will perform server rack installations, hardware break-fix, troubleshoot network issues, and support incident responses to maintain service availability. This role requires lifting up to 40 pounds, working in data centers, and being available for on-call shifts, nights, weekends, and travel between sites.

Qualifications

1+ years of computer networking experience.
1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field.
Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
1+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repairing experience.
18+ months of layer 1/2 networking experience (including troubleshooting and repair).
Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, and carry out routine repairs to maintain AWS service availability.
Respond to operational incidents that impact service availability.
Serve as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
Participate in on‑call duties and scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on operational issue analysis.
Help interview, train, and onboard new team members.
Work shift schedules that may include nights, weekends, holidays, and 24/7 operations.
Travel to and between data center locations as needed.
