Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Technician to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a Data Center operation. You will inspect mechanical and engineering systems, monitor BMS alarms, and work with vendors to ensure safety, compliance, and high reliability in critical client environments.

The role involves completing scheduled PMs, responding to alarms, and maintaining accurate maintenance records while following CBRE processes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Training in a technical discipline having served an apprenticeship or equivalent with 1-2 years of job-related experience.
• Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role.
• Effectively present information to internal teams, clients, management and colleagues.
• Follow basic work routines and standards in applying work.
• Strong communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Basic math skills (percentages, discounts, markups).

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance.
• Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
• React to Building Management System alarms, and complete emergency repairs as needed.
• Work with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with company processes, procedures, and laws and regulations.
• Alert management if subcontractor performance doesn't meet requirements per the Master Service Agreement.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
• Check BMS for running and alarm conditions and respond to HVAC-related client problems.
• Building walkthroughs, taking meter readings from UPS, PDU's and utilities.
• Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects.
• Follow defined procedures and complete assigned work under guidance, ensuring safety and quality standards.
