Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a Safety Professional to partner with Superintendents and Project Managers to enforce Corporate Safety and Health policies on project sites in Oregon. You will lead safety procedures, perform inspections, and ensure compliance with OSHA and NFPA standards.

The role requires 3-5 years in construction safety, an OSHA Outreach Trainer credential, and a willingness to obtain CHST. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in construction safety
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction or Safety preferred but not required
• OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer certification required

Responsibilities

• Conducts regular site inspections and records conditions
• Performs admin tasks for project safety binder and documents
• Coordinates subcontractor Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings
• Acts as resource on OSHA, NFPA, and local safety standards
• Reviews Subcontractors' Safety Programs and Job Hazard Analyses
• Monitors Toolbox Talks for documentation and quality
• Investigates accidents and collects incident reports
• Coordinates with Regional Risk Manager for claims trends
• Verifies subcontractor training related to scope of work
• Performs OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPR, and related safety trainings
