Job summary

Suffolk Construction seeks a Safety Manager to lead site safety programs, work with Superintendents and Project Managers, and ensure compliance with corporate safety policies across projects within the Virginia region.

The role involves conducting inspections, coordinating safety meetings, reviewing subcontractor safety plans, and delivering OSHA trainings to maintain best-in-class safety performance on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction or Safety is preferred but not required.
• Qualified OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer.
• Willingness to achieve CHST designation within two years.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and document safety conditions.
• Coordinate safety planning meetings with subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and local regulations.
• Review Subcontractors' Site Specific Safety Programs and JHA.
• Lead accident investigations and incident reporting.
• Provide OSHA 10/30 training and other safety trainings.
