Job summary

Mortenson seeks an experienced Project Manager I to lead projects with professionalism, flexibility, and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment. You will manage project quality, timeliness, and safety, mentor the project team, and develop strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum six years of related previous experience.
• Proven ability to assist with all responsibilities for complex projects.
• Basic understanding of construction law and business practices.
• Experience in commercial construction, renewables, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall financial health of projects.
• Support and lead EPC contract negotiations, including technical exhibits and project schedules.
• Lead vendor procurement and bid/award phase for major subs and suppliers.
• Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections.
• Allocate project estimate into financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices.
• Provide financials and billings to accounting, create monthly owner billings.
• Manage subcontracts and suppliers, oversee budget and selections of trade partners.
• Handle billings, contract management, and change orders.
• Manage and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, approve timecards, provide feedback.
