Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager I, Engineering Partner for our Data Center Solutions Group to lead projects with professionalism, flexibility, and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment.

You will manage and integrate a key external engineering partner across design, coordination, and execution of a data center project, ensuring quality, timeliness, and safety while mentoring the project team and building strong customer relationships through excellent service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum six years of related previous experience.
• Proven ability to assist with all responsibilities for complex projects.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
• Understanding of construction law and general business practices.
• Preference for experience in commercial construction, renewable energy, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies.
• Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.
• Strong customer service and professional attitude.
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.
• Current driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall financial health of projects
• Support and lead EPC contract negotiations, including technical exhibits and project schedules
• Lead vendor procurement and bid/award phase for major subs and suppliers
• Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections
• Allocate project estimate into financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices
• Provide financials and billings to accounting, create monthly owner billings
• Manage subcontracts and suppliers, oversee budget and selections of trade partners
• Handle billings, contract management, and change orders
• Manage and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, approve timecards, provide feedback
