Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager for its Data Center Solutions Group. You will partner with the project manager from bid through client acceptance, lead and mentor project staff, and ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery in a dynamic environment.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, at least five years of experience, and proficiency with MS Office and project tools. Travel 100% is required; base pay details follow within the ad.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of related experience.
• Ability to manage complex project tasks and contracts.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Understanding of construction law and business practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project/web applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost control and financial management.
• Collaborate with Preconstruction on estimates and schedule.
• Coordinate scopes of work and review pay applications.
• Partner with the Project Manager or Construction Executive.
• Draft client proposals and manage contract administration.
• Award subcontracts and manage field teams.
• Provide direction to the project team for safe, timely completion.
• Mentor and coach team members and manage career development.
• Direct responsibilities for engineers and guide staff.
