Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, management, and execution of complex data center construction projects. You will manage budgets, schedules, subcontracts, and procurement while maintaining safety and quality standards on site.

The role requires leading a team of professionals, coordinating with OEMs, and ensuring alignment with owner expectations. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field, or the equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of four or more years project management experience within Data Center Construction.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in directly managing a team of at least (5) individuals preparing purchase orders, processing change orders, processing submittals, tracking manufacturing production, shipping & receiving, storage and handling of Major equipment on orders exceeding $100M in the industrial, mission critical, life sciences or other large scale commercial industries.

Responsibilities

• Champions “The Layton Way” by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Ensures that “Constructing with Integrity” is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
• Prepares project budgets and unit cost reports.
• Leads the project team in preparing the project management plan (PMP).
• Participates in value engineering services as appropriate.
