Job summary

Amazon Inc. in Stafford, VA seeks a Data Center Project Engineer to join the on-site construction management team.

You will coordinate with general contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure safe, on-time delivery and effective documentation control. You will manage RFIs, change orders, milestone tracking, and onboarding of new vendors while collaborating with Operations, Networking, Controls and Security to maintain high-quality builds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Vendor management experience.
• Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• 3+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience.
• Experience in construction or project management.

Responsibilities

• Establish communication and coordination across a data center region’s general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Develop and maintain a tracking system for design changes, RFIs, and change orders for regional leadership review.
• Onboard new vendors for badging and orientation.
• Update project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents.
• Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to site.
• Compile and store construction data from vendors.
• Manage checklists including substantial completion, safety, and quality.
