Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to support the development and execution of a national Pre-Construction program across multiple campuses.

You will coordinate between Real Estate, Design Engineering, Due Diligence, and other partner teams to forecast schedules, manage construction budgets, and provide constructability guidance. Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction or project management experience.
• Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Possess a foundational knowledge of critical data center equipment (Generators, UPS, switchgear, transformers, power feeders & busduct, chillers, plumbing, fire detection/suppression, AHUs, CRAC units).
• Perform constructability reviews of critical scopes for new data centers and drive baseline improvements.
• Perform build phasing evaluations across civil, structural, electrical domains for potential sites.
• Determine site requirements that could impact schedule, cost, and delivery; integrate site with surrounding properties.
• Conduct negotiations with land sellers, developers, and general contractors; evaluate bids and proposals.
• Manage GC and other third‑party vendors delivering preconstruction services during design.
• Define construction scopes and issue RFPs to General Contractors; review bid summaries and milestones.
• Support issuance of contracting documents (Work Orders, Purchase Orders, Work Letters).
• Develop handoff project documentation to Construction Manager partners.
• Collect and share lessons learned to improve the program.
