Job summary

Baseten in San Francisco is seeking a sourcing-first professional to map and manage data center and powered land opportunities, focusing on long-tail providers rather than the few major incumbents. You will own the full lifecycle of each relationship—from outreach to ongoing management—across neoclouds, hyperscalers, brokers, and independents.

You will quickly assess opportunities, build business cases, and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring Baseten's standing relationships remain strong

Qualifications

• Sourcing-focused mindset with ability to build a large network of long-tail relationships.
• Strong project management instincts and lifecycle ownership.
• Background in neocloud, hyperscaler, or brokerage environments with data center sourcing.
• Ability to independently assess and prioritize opportunities without heavy guidance.
• Comfort with commercial analysis, cost tracking, and contract-level conversations.
• Judgment and discretion in managing sensitive supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a map of data center and powered land opportunities, focusing on long-tail providers.
• Own the full sourcing lifecycle – outreach, negotiation support, and ongoing relationship management.
• Develop relationships across neoclouds, hyperscalers, brokers, and independent operators.
• Evaluate new sites to determine fit and priority, and prepare business cases and cost analyses.
• Maintain records of suppliers, contracts, and terms for reliable data.
