Job summary

Salute is hiring a Data Center Operator to oversee critical facility systems at the El Mirage data center. You will manage electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to emergencies to maintain 99.999% uptime.

Collaboration with the Site Manager and MSO teams is essential to ensure safe, efficient operations. The role requires hands-on experience with large-scale data center infrastructure, strong safety discipline, and the ability to

Qualifications

• Strong background in operating mechanical and electrical critical systems.
• Ability to assess power, thermal system capacity and code compliance.
• Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting large data center equipment including UPS, switchgear, generators, chillers, PDU, etc.
• Familiarity with NFPA, NEC and safety best practices.
• Ability to coordinate turn-ups with customers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Place safety first in all tasks and decisions.
• Operate, monitor, and respond to abnormal facility conditions.
• Perform planned and ad-hoc preventive maintenance.
• Inspect and maintain HVAC, electrical distribution, and mechanical rooms.
• Respond to indoor emergencies and air quality concerns.
• Create and manage work requests and track progress.
• Monitor contractor performance and coordinate with vendors.
• Provide technical expertise for data center systems and commissioning.
• Coordinate with Site Manager and stakeholders on maintenance schedules.
• Ensure maximum data center efficiency and capacity planning.
