Job summary

CoreSite is seeking a Manager - Data Center Operations for the Swing Shift (2:00pm–10:00pm, Mon–Fri) in Reston, VA. You will oversee electrical, mechanical, and fire life safety systems and lead a team to ensure peak facility performance.

You will manage vendor contracts, budgets, and projects from conception to completion, while driving energy efficiency and uptime. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• This role requires managing data center electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, and communications systems.
• Strong project management, budgeting, and vendor management experience required.
• Leadership skills to mentor staff and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Primary data center SME for electrical, mechanical, and fire life safety systems.
• Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems.
• Track site efficiencies and energy consumption; drive improvements and cost reductions.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement; forecast OpEx and CapEx.
• Create detailed procedures for maintenance events and emergency situations.
• Oversee audits, compliance, and adherence to CoreSite standards and SLAs.
• Lead and train technicians; coordinate shifts and performance reviews.
