Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technology Manager to lead and scale a 70+ person Data Center Operations team across multiple facilities on a 24/7 rotating shift.

The role focuses on mentoring, developing talent, and delivering scalable technical solutions within a fast-paced environment. The position requires strong IT infrastructure, DC/industrial experience, and proven people management.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of people management and team development experience.
• 5+ years of engineering work managing large-scale services experience.
• Experience operating a mission-critical team or product.
• High school or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining SLAs through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead Data Center Managers and Technicians, including recruitment, coaching, performance reviews, and rotation management.
• Define strategy to improve 24x7 DC Operations efficiency and productivity.
• Manage and improve workflows, processes, and throughput for DC Operations.
• Ensure operational KPIs and metrics are defined, tracked, and met within AWS DCs.
• Drive innovation and automation within DC Operations.
• Challenge quality and quantity of services to improve customer experience.
• Administer large-scale events in DCs (crises: thermal, power, networking).
• Manage vendor performance and ensure DCs comply with security policies.
