Job summary

CBRE is seeking an Assistant Chief Building Engineer to lead a dedicated engineering team in a high-value data center, ensuring 100% uptime for power, cooling, and safety systems. You will supervise engineers, coordinate on-site maintenance, and back up the Chief Building Engineer during absences.

The role requires 5+ years in tiered, mission-critical environments, with supervisory experience and relevant licenses or certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline preferred, or 7+ years of hands‑on critical environment experience with relevant certifications or military training.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a shift team of critical environment technicians and engineers.
• Oversee electrical systems including distribution, UPS, and emergency generators.
• Manage mechanical systems like chillers and cooling towers; monitor with EPMS/BMS.
• Maintain safety and compliance per OSHA, NFPA 70E, CBRE guidelines; drive zero‑harm culture.
• Coordinate daily work, assign maintenance tasks, and manage on‑site vendors.
• Act as primary backup to Chief Building Engineer and lead site operations as needed.
