Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technical Team Lead to perform preventative maintenance and complex repairs in a large data center operation.

You will manage the team’s daily activities, coordinate with contractors, and ensure safety and high reliability of critical building systems. This role requires technical apprenticeship background or journeyman license, strong coaching skills, and the ability to work flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent in a technical discipline.
• Journeyman Electrician or HVAC license preferred; state/local licensure where required.
• Experience in staffing, coaching, and retention.
• Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive information and set performance expectations.
• Willingness to work shifts including weekends/holidays.
• Must meet physical requirements of the role.
• Understanding of procedures to solve somewhat complex problems.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and safety procedures.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook and related Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities; establish schedules and deadlines.
• Cross-train staff; mentor and coach as needed.
• Maintain preventive maintenance programs and manuals.
• Coordinate maintenance with contractors, tenant finish personnel, and technicians.
• Oversee fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems; stay current with technology trends.
• Communicate with tenants, clients, owners, facility management, and vendors.
• Respond to emergencies and customer concerns.
• Lead by example; align with CBRE RISE values.
• Identify and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues.
