Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is hiring a Data Center Operating Engineer to maintain, troubleshoot and repair critical facility systems. You will focus on electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, and central utility plant operations while growing multi-skill capabilities to ensure continuous data center uptime.

The role requires strong technical expertise with a proactive approach to monitoring, fault analysis, and incident response, including safety and hazardous-material handling.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years related work experience in data center or critical environments.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
• Ability to work varied schedules and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance on data center systems to ensure 100% uptime.
• Monitor HVAC, chillers, electrical systems, UPS, generators, and controls.
• Record readings and adjust operations for proper performance.
• Respond to alarms, analyze issues, and take corrective action.
• Manage work orders, CMMS, vendor relations, and customer tickets.
• Adhere to safety and hazard material handling policies.
• Support incident management and emergency escalation procedures.
