Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) is seeking an experienced Data Center Operating Engineer to ensure reliable 24/7 operation of critical infrastructure in Elk Grove Village, IL. You will maintain electrical and mechanical systems, monitor performance, and respond to incidents to safeguard uptime.

The role requires knowledge of HVAC, chillers, electrical distribution, and emergency power systems, with a focus on safety, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-growing

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in a data center/critical facility.
• Experience with building systems including UPS, emergency generators, and switchgears.
• Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite and CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems to ensure 100% uptime.
• Record readings and adjust operations to ensure proper equipment functioning.
• Analyze system operation to determine causes of malfunctions and take corrective action.
• Follow safety policies for hazardous materials handling and disposal.
• Manage work orders, CMMS, vendor management, and customer-facing tickets.
