Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking a MCF Project Engineer to perform technical duties under a Senior Project Engineer. You will develop advanced mechanical designs, coordinate with other disciplines, and lead design quality across data center projects.

Location flexibility includes Chandler, AZ with other Stantec offices. Minimum 7+ years’ experience, accredited engineering degree, and PE or equivalent certification preferred.

Qualifications

• This role requires reading and interpreting technical documents, specs, and gov't regs.
• Ability to conceptualize building systems within the discipline and interactions with components.
• Proficiency with 3D design and engineering software; strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops advanced systems designs within own discipline with limited supervision.
• Delegates tasks to project designers as appropriate.
• Prepares project deliverables (drawings, specs, reports) per client scope.
• Assists in evaluating and selecting mechanical equipment.
• Coordinates with all disciplines to integrate work and client requests.
• Reviews deliverables before QA/QC; ensures adherence to quality processes.
• Reviews shop drawings and RFIs; prepares site observation reports and punch lists.
• Assists Senior Project Engineer on project tasks and acts as mechanical lead when directed.
• Engages in professional community activities and supports staff education.
