GTN Technical Staffing is assisting a client in Irving, TX to fill a Procurement Associate – Mechanical Equipment role for a data center construction program. You will manage purchase orders, supplier coordination, and delivery tracking for mechanical and plumbing equipment bought under an OFCI model.

The successful candidate will have direct mechanical equipment buying experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple suppliers and open orders in a fast-paced project

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of direct procurement experience purchasing capital equipment, engineered systems, or construction materials.
• Hands-on buying experience with mechanical equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, air-handling units, pumps, or HVAC packages.
• Working knowledge of procure-to-pay process and ERP-based purchasing.
• Experience managing long-lead equipment, supplier follow-up, and delivery risks.
• Understanding of Incoterms, freight terms, payment milestones, and warranties.
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to maintain accurate records across a large portfolio of open purchase orders.

Responsabilités

• Issue and administer purchase orders for mechanical equipment including chillers, cooling towers, CRAH units, fan wall systems, pumps, piping, valves, and VFDs.
• Prepare RFQs, compare supplier bids, and coordinate communications through contract award.
• Expedite long-lead equipment, monitor milestones, and address delays impacting schedules.
• Coordinate delivery logistics with EPC partners and site teams, including freight, sequencing, and receiving documentation.
• Manage PO lifecycle in ERP including changes, payments, and closeout.
• Track vendor submittals, drawings, and factory acceptance/testing schedules.
• Coordinate documentation and approvals among suppliers, engineering, and construction teams.
• Resolve equipment shortages, shipping damage, and warranty claims with suppliers and freight carriers.
• Maintain supplier records, pricing history, lead times, and purchasing status reports.
• Contribute to supplier performance tracking and scorecards.
