Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to support Data Center projects within the Buildings sub-discipline. This summer internship offers hands-on experience addressing critical infrastructure challenges while you remain enrolled in an ABET-accredited Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program.

Qualifications

• No experience required; enrolled in ABET-accredited Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program.
• On-site, full-time internship with onboarding requirements as applicable.
• Strong written and verbal communication, math ability, and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawings.
• Involve HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, standby power, flood control systems, and other specialties.
• Support engineering analyses, report production, and designs.
• Prepare basic calculations.
• Assist in basic equipment selection.
• Coordinate with other disciplines.
• Schedule project deliverables.
• Collect, organize, and evaluate data.
• Analyze systems using computer modeling.
