Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to support Data Center projects within the Buildings discipline. You will contribute to HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design, gaining hands-on experience across disciplines as part of an engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design principles.
• Ability to read and apply design guides and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develops familiarity by reading, understanding and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and BV policies.
• Equipment sizing and performance calculations.
• Development of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
• Develops an understanding and complies with the BV quality program.
• Contributes to preparation of basic engineering deliverables (drawings, reports, specs).
• Collects, assimilates, and manages data for engineering work.
• Prepares basic engineering calculations following standard methods.
• Adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
