Job summary

HCL Technologies is seeking an Infrastructure Repair Technician to support a fast-paced data center environment in Huntsville, AL. You will diagnose and repair hardware on servers, storage, and network devices, while maintaining tickets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.

The role requires 2+ years in data center hardware, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. A degree in computer science or engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in computer hardware, networking, and troubleshooting.
• Strong technical background in computer hardware, networking, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and resolving hardware problems on servers, storage systems, and network devices.
• Repair and replacement of server hardware, storage components, and network devices.
• Manage and close tickets with accurate documentation and timely resolution.
• Participate in root cause analysis with cross-functional teams to address underlying causes.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers and stakeholders to resolve complex issues; escalate when needed.
• Propose process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality of work.
• Monitor ticket queues and repair requests; maintain up-to-date records in the ticket portal.
• Manage inventory of network devices, spare parts, and RMA equipment.
• Participate in training to stay current with technology and techniques.
• Adhere to safety procedures when working with electrical/mechanical equipment.
